This is a personal, static website. It has no accounts, comments, or advertising. I do not add audience analytics or use visitor data for behavioural profiling.

Who operates this site

Daniel Bourdrez operates bytema.re and is the data controller for the limited personal data processed when you visit it.

For privacy questions or GDPR requests, email [email protected].

What is processed and why

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site. When you request a page, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, request URL and headers, browser and device information, timestamps, and security signals. Cloudflare processes some of this information on my behalf and handles certain network and security data for its own purposes, as described in its privacy policy.

The site uses a Content Security Policy to block unexpected resources and code. When a browser detects a violation, it may send a report to Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry). A report can include the page URL, blocked resource URL, violated policy directive, original policy, source location, referrer, and browser information. The policy deliberately omits report-sample, so reports do not request samples of blocked inline code or styles. The site does not load Sentry’s browser SDK or use Sentry tracing or session replay.

This processing is necessary to deliver the site, maintain its reliability, detect broken functionality, and protect it against abusive or malicious traffic. Where I determine the purpose of the processing, the legal basis is my legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website.

This site does not maintain a visitor database, add analytics code, or intentionally export a separate copy of raw request logs. Content Security Policy reports are event-based security diagnostics, not audience analytics or behavioural tracking.

Search runs locally in your browser. Search terms are not sent to me or to a separate search service.

Cookies and local storage

The site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies, such as a cf_clearance cookie, when it needs to verify that a request is legitimate or record that a security challenge was completed. Cloudflare documents its cookies in its cookie policy.

The site’s theme stores two preferences in your browser’s local storage:

  • pref-theme remembers your light or dark theme.
  • menu-scroll-position remembers the menu position on smaller screens.

These preferences stay in your browser and are not sent to me. You can remove them by clearing the site’s stored data in your browser.

Because the site uses only security-related storage and preferences needed to provide requested functionality, it does not show a cookie consent banner. I will review this before adding analytics, advertising, third-party embeds, comments, or similar features.

Service provider and international transfers

Cloudflare, Inc. operates the global network used by this site, so technical data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Under its Data Processing Addendum, Cloudflare acts as a processor for Customer Logs and site content. Cloudflare’s privacy policy explains when it acts as an independent controller for other information, including data derived from operating and securing its network. Cloudflare also publishes its sub-processor list.

Functional Software, Inc. processes Content Security Policy reports through Sentry on my behalf. Sentry’s Data Processing Addendum governs service data, and its privacy policy describes its broader privacy practices, safeguards, international transfers, and data-subject rights. The configured ingestion endpoint is hosted in Sentry’s US region. Reports are limited by the browser and the site’s policy, and Sentry account controls are used to reduce unnecessary data where available.

Retention for Cloudflare logs and Sentry diagnostics depends on the relevant dataset, account plan, and service configuration. Cloudflare publishes information in its Security Analytics documentation, and Sentry documents retention in its legal and account materials. I do not intentionally export or keep a longer-lived copy. Browser preferences remain until you change them or clear this site’s stored data.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL.

Because this site collects very little information and has no user accounts, I may need details about the relevant request and approximate visit time to determine whether associated information can be identified.

Changes to this notice

I will update this notice when the site’s data practices or service providers change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
